Safety comes first in Tirol

All footpaths and hiking routes are marked using standard signposting: trail signs are yellow, markings are red-white-red. In addition all trails are color-coded according to difficulty.

Red Trails are moderately difficult trails suitable for reasonably fit hikers; basic hiking equipment is required.

Black Trails are rated difficult and require a good head for heights as well as sure-footedness.

If you are interested in exploring the outdoors here, but don't know where to go or don't want to hike alone, it’s best to enlist the services of a licensed guide. Many guides organize regular group hikes to the region’s most beautiful spots. Group walks are not only safer, they are also a lot of fun!
